SAM JACOB: EMPIRE OF ICE CREAM

Betts Project is pleased to present ‘Empire of Ice Cream’, a solo exhibition by British architect Sam Jacob. This will be the artist’s first exhibition at the gallery, showing a series of drawings made on graph paper.
Each of the drawings is filled with fragments of architectural plans. These elements are sometimes grand and monumental, at others they are banal and generic. They seem drawn from diverse sources, historic and contemporary, but they are always fragmented to create an architectural field that is complex, hybrid and always shifting.
